OFFENSIVE COACHING STAFF
Kenneth West | Assistant Head Coach / Slots / Wide Receivers
West begins his first season in 2020 at Southern Nazarene serving as the Assistant Head Coach, while also coaching Wide Receivers. He also is the team's Campus Liaison as well. West transitions back into the SNU family after spending the last two seasons serving as the head football coach for Star Spencer High School in Oklahoma City. Prior to his two-year stint with the Bobcats, West coached at Southern Nazarene for five years. He coached running backs for three seasons and defensive backs for two, and also served as the strength and conditioning coach for one year as well.
In his college playing days, West was a First Team All-American at NEO and won the Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Year as a defensive back. He also went on to play two seasons for the University of New Mexico.
“This Fall we want to have a winning season for these guys.” said West. “Our goal will be working hard each and every day and earning multiple All-GAC First Team honors at the end of the year. We want to establish a mentality that allows us to endure the ups and downs of the season and allows us to come out as better athletes.”
Ivan Maysonet | Offensive Line
Maysonet returns to the gridiron for his first season as a Graduate Assistant to the Offensive Unit after having played four years at SNU. He also played two years of baseball for the Crimson Storm. Last season he helped the Storm set a school-record of 2,111 yards rushing.
Maysonet graduated from Southern Nazarene in May of 2018 with a bachelor's in math education and is pursuing a master's in educational leadership. He currently lives in Bethany.
Nathan Buchholz | Offensive Quality Control
Buchholz begins his second season with the Crimson Storm as an offensive quality control and tight ends coach.
Buchholz attended Sterling College in Kansas and played wide receiver and tight end from 2000-2003. He was a three-year letterman for the Warriors
Buchholz, and his wife Whitney, have three children, Laynie, Morgan, and Nate.
Brown begins his first season in 2020 at Southern Nazarene serving as the Lead Assistant under SNU head coach Dustin Hada. His primary focus is the Special Teams Coordinator as he also will be coaching Tight Ends. Brown comes to Bethany after spending a full year at Olivet Nazarene University serving as the Associate Athletic Director and Sports Information Director. Prior to that, Brown was the Associate Head Coach and Defensive Backs Coach for the Tigers in 2015.
He served as the Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach from 2011-14 at Olivet, and before that was the Quarterbacks Coach from 2009-10. He also coached Wide Receivers, Linebackers, and Defensive Backs in 14 years with the Tigers.
“I am super excited to support Coach Hada in the development of these men and thrilled to support the mission of Southern Nazarene through the avenue of football.” said Brown. “I truly enjoy mentoring young men and helping them grow in their walks with Christ and I can’t wait to see how the team will respond to the guidance and direction Coach Hada will provide.
